Is Veterinarian Recommended Dog Food the Best?

When you go to visit your local veterinarian, you assume that they know best about what to feed a dog, and although he food is usually quite expensive there, you might be tempted to listen to their advice and buy their recommended dog food. The natural products and high-end name brands that they offer are well-known and well-respected, but are they really the best for your dog?

Even the most recommended dog food currently in production is not really good enough for your dog. The expensive products that your vet sells to you are probably higher in quality than some of the generic brands available on your store shelves, but that certainly does not mean that they are all you need to keep your pet healthy and happy and living a long life.

Most veterinarian recommended dog food is made from the same ingredients as those foods found in the grocery store, although there may be some variation in the core ingredients. But, in general, they contain the same additives and preservatives, products that cause illness and even cancer in animals. So, although your vet may really believe he is suggesting the best food on the market, it may be killing your dog.
